Will Thomson’s practice is focused on Municipal law, land use planning & development, and litigation.
Will has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, and before the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal (formerly Ontario Municipal Board), Environmental Review Tribunal, Conservation Review Board, Assessment Review Board.
In his land use planning & development practice, Will assists public and private sector clients in matters relating to Official Plans, zoning by-laws, subdivisions, consents, Development Charges, and all matters related to the land-use planning regime in Ontario. Will also has experience in the environmental sphere, particularly as it relates to aggregate extraction, renewable energy and species at risk.
In his Municipal practice, Will advises public and private sector clients on the drafting, interpretation, challenge and defence of by-laws; the prosecution and defence of offences under the Provincial Offences Act; and all manner of legal advice and guidance under the varied Municipal legislation.
In his litigation practice, Will is focused on property, land use planning, and environmental matters, and seeks to provide clear, concise and practical guidance to his clients as they navigate the complex world of litigation.
