Harold Elston and Stephen Watt are pleased to announce their association in the practice of law. Effective May 1, 2018, they will combine their municipal law practices as “Elston Watt”. They are also pleased to welcome Will Thomson, associate, and Anna Stephan, law clerk, to the firm.
For over 30 years, Steve and Harold have each practiced municipal and planning law, providing their clients with advice on planning and development applications and appeals, and all manner of municipal law matters. Elston Watt lawyers appear regularly before municipal councils and administrative law bodies, including four boards and tribunals of the Environmental and Land Tribunals of Ontario. Harold, Steve and Will attend at all levels of court on applications, appeals and judicial reviews, including the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal. In addition to his municipal law practice, Harold is the Integrity Commissioner for 14 Ontario municipalities.
Anna Stephan has over 20-years experience as a law clerk and legal assistant and certified as a law clerk through The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario. Anna handles all manner of residential and commercial real estate transactions, and corporate/commercial law.
The firm advises and represents upper and lower-tier municipal governments, school boards, businesses, individuals and groups throughout Grey, Bruce, Simcoe, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Sudbury, Manitoulin and Nipissing.
